TEHRAN – Iranian actor Pejman Bazeghi has been appointed as the first ambassador of Yari, an Uppsala-based charity organization founded by Iranian expatriates living in Sweden, the organization has announced. 

Yari supports street children in Iran, enabling them to attend school, and also raises funds for construction of schools and libraries for children in the country.

The organization has also held the Yari Iranian Film Festival annually in the Swedish cities of Uppsala and Stockholm for the past sixteen years.

Bazeghi was a special guest of this year’s festival, which was held on September 24 and 25.
